Over SixtiesIT was party time for the Over Sixties Club when they met at the Church Room. Those present enjoyed a Christmas meal. Before the meal, a tombola session was arranged and members sponsored the prizes. Each member received a Christmas gift, provided by the club. There was one birthday, Edith Pauley.Flower ClubDOREEN Lenton presided at the Flower Club's annual meeting at the Church Room. A successful past year was reviewed. The officers elected were: Chairman, Doreen Lenton; secretary, Joyce Perkins; treasurer, Phyllis Fox; draw and table sale, Elsie Lawrence. The programme for 2006 was planned and members will take part at the Manea gala and the Parish Church flower festival. It was agreed to increase subscriptions to £6.TombolaFRIENDS of Manea School benefited from £205 raised at a tombola in the village hall, organised by Donna Tweed. Caller was Billie King. Prize winners were Nigel Parish, Rose Savage, D Evans, Hayley Powell, Nigel Newman and Mrs Sullivan. Stephen Tooke conducted the service, welcoming the congregation in verse. Readers included Stephen Tooke, Rosemary Hankins, Daisy Peverett, Wendy Cole, Hilma Sears, Joyce Perkins and William Evans. Church wardens Rosemary Hankins and William Evans took the collection.TombolaHELPERS in the village hall were Janet Tweed, Margaret King, Lorna Marshall, Freda Waters, Mona Waters, Cynthia Cundell, Jean Walker, June Dawson, Maurice Short and Billie King (caller). Proceeds were for hall funds. Mince pies were served during the half-time interval.
