CHATTERIS Festival Week was a success at the Conservative Club, with Charlie Chaplin entertaining members and guests on gala Saturday evening. The week raised more than £700.

Karen and Peggy Kilby arranged a quiz night for cystic fibrosis care. They gained £310 for their efforts to give an accumulative total of £15, 582.05 raised over the years. The line dancing open morning raised £45 to be added to the festival committee's funds and £422 was given to the Peter Pan playgroup to allow it to buy equipment for learning and play. This money formed the proceeds from a moderately supported casino night held on the second Saturday.

Ralph Wayman won the Dud Paul Domino Cup knock out singles competition held on the Monday evening.

The club's next charity event will be a casino arranged to raise money for Glebelands School, to be held on Saturday, September 23.
