Get ready for a family disco this weekend in aid of Doddington Village Sports and Carnival Day.

The disco takes place on Saturday May 7 from 6.30pm at Doddington Village Hall.

Entrance costs £1.00 for children and £2 per adult.

There will be a licensed bar for the adults, and during the disco the 2016 carnival prince and princess will be selected.

The 2015 prince and princess were Charlie Alger and Hope Crook.

The 2016 Prince and Princess crown and tiara have been sponsored by John Cutteridge of Megaplants, Hospital Road, Doddington.

If you would like the chance to become this years prince or princess you have to: be aged 10 or 11 on Saturday July 2, live in Doddington and attend Lionel Walden School.

This years carnival is held on Saturday July 2.

The theme is back to the 1980s to celebrate 30 years of the carnival.
