A man diagnosed with cancer living in a shed has been found a home just in time for Christmas.

Shaun Taylor, 47 was being forced to live in a family friend’s shed up until just over a week ago - despite being, according to an NHS consultant, in “urgent housing need”.

However, thanks to Fenland District Council, he is now in supported accommodation in Wisbech.

An FDC spokesman said: “We helped to find him a place there at the end of last week following his release from hospital, where he was receiving chemotherapy.

“He will be able to stay there while he bids for social housing.

“He remains a priority case.”

Mr Taylor was diagnosed with testicular cancer for the second time last month and began a nine-week course of chemotherapy last week.
