COUNCILLOR Steve Count from March has been short listed in the Councillor Achievement Awards 2013, run the Local Government Information Unit and CCLA Investment Management Limited.
Cllr Count is a member of Cambridgeshire County Council and March Town Council, he was de-selected by the Conservatives in 2011 to fight for a place on Fenland District Council.
His nomination is in the category to mark outstanding contributions to financial performance. At the county council, Cllr Count is a member of the cabinet, and is on the Audit and Accounts Committee, the Joint Committee on Local Government Shared Services, the Pensions Committee and the Pensions Fund Board Investment sub committee.
A spokesman for the award organisers said: “With over 250 entries, we have had a phenomenal response to the awards and have been greatly inspired by the multiple examples of councillors who have made a huge difference to their communities. We want to personally thank everyone who took the time to nominate a candidate and help celebrate their efforts.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on February 25.
