A DRUNKEN teenager caused mayhem in a March street two days before Christmas, smashing windows with bricks and a paving slab, and barging his way into homes.Karl Crofts, 18, started his reign of terror by picking on the home of mother-of-three Diane Knowles, in Norwalde Street. He banged on her door at about 6pm, and when her child opened the door he stumbled inside. With his hands on her shoulders as if to stop himself falling over, Crofts told Ms Knowles "I didn't mean to hit that little child."He moved next door, where he kicked a door. Crofts threw bricks, smashed a window and kicked the door at other houses.Crofts, who normally lives in a caravan at the side of the road in Devon, admitted two charges of criminal damage and one of disorderly behaviour when he appeared before Fenland magistrates on Tuesday.Nicola Ebbs, prosecuting, said police followed a trail of blood and found Crofts in Robingoodfellows Lane. He later told police he had drunk three cans of beer and some whisky, but alcohol did not agree with him. The court ordered a report and gave him conditional bail until January 31.
