The Horsefair Shopping Centre is getting involved in the upcoming Wisbech Arts Festival by giving shoppers the opportunity to take part in its crafts conundrum challenge.

From Saturday May 10 to Friday 23 shoppers visiting the Horsefair centre will be able to take part in a competition to be in with the chance of winning a £50 Argos voucher.

The crafts conundrum will see individual letters of a word, that have been created by local people, being jumbled up in the window of the centre’s vacant store opposite Peacocks.

Shoppers then have to work out the mystery word by unscrambling nine letters to win a prize.

Anyone who thinks they can solve the conundrum, which is a Wisbech themed word, can post their answer, along with their name and contact details, through the centre manager’s office door, which is opposite the entrance to the co-op store on the bus station. Entrants can also enter via email; simply get in touch with horsefair@wisbechartsfestival.org.uk.

Horsefair centre manager, Kevin Smith said: “The letters that make up to conundrum have been created by local craftspeople and children who have made them from a variety of different materials. I’m pleased that the centre is once again getting involved in the Arts Festival and I hope our shoppers will enjoy having a go at working out the correct word!”

The Wisbech Art Festival this year runs from 13 to 25 May and the winner of the Crafts Conundrum will be announced at the festival’s closing ceremony on Sunday 25 May. The first correct answer picked at random will win a £50 Argos voucher.
