Crew tackles Wimblington grain elevator fire

A grain elevator caught fire in Wimblington yesterday.

At 11.46am, a crew from Chatteris was called to a fire involving a grain elevator in Hook Lane.

Smoke was billowing from a grain elevator, whose motor was on fire. Crews used a hose reel to extinguish it and returned to their stations by 1.30pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, by equipment.
