Crews from Chatteris and March were called to an out of control bonfire in Wimblington Road, Doddington on August 27.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish a large pile of rubbish and conifer clippings that were well alight at around 8.26pm. They returned to their stations by 10.03pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Please make sure you light bonfires away from structures such as buildings and sheds and fencing and shrubs and stay with it at all times until it is out.”

On August 28 a crew from Wisbech was called to a rubbish fire in the open in Gypsy Lane.

Firefighters used a hose reel to extinguish the fire and returned to their station at 2.38pm.

Cause of the fire was accidental.

On August 25, crews from Ramsey and Chatteris were called to a tractor and baler fire in Station Road.

Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the fire and returned to their stations by 9.40pm.

The cause of the fire was accidental, mechanical.
