A man and woman have been charged with multiple offences including burglaries and theft of vans in Peterborough and Fenland.

Thomas Hutchinson, 45, and Teresa Gaskin, 50, were arrested in Dickens Street, Boongate, Peterborough, on September 12 after being spotted by an off-duty police officer.

They have since been charged with three counts of dwelling burglary, four counts of non-dwelling burglary, four counts of theft of a motor vehicle, and two counts of fraud by false representation.

Burglaries the pair have been charged for:

  • Basenhally Road, Whittlesey – theft of a bag on August 27

  • Burystead, Stanground, Peterborough – occupant was objected to violence on August 28

  • Thistle Drive, Stanground, Peterborough, theft of a handbag on September 6

  • Business burglary and theft of a motor vehicle from Tradelink Direct Ltd in Marwick Road, March – theft of a van on August 7

  • Business burglary and theft of a motor vehicle from Tradelink Direct Ltd in Marwick Road, March – theft of a van on August 28

  • Business burglary and theft of a motor vehicle from Heatshield in Royce Road, Fengate, Peterborough – theft of a van on August 29

  • Business burglary and theft of a motor vehicle from Custom Choice Windows in Prospect Place, Fengate, Peterborough – theft of a van on September 6

  • Fraud by false representation of using a bank card belonging to another on September 6

  • Fraud by false representation of using a bank card belonging to another on September 10.

Gaskin has also been charged with a further two counts of dwelling burglary:

  • Mellows Close, Boongate, Peterborough – theft of a wallet on September 7

  • Earl Spencer Court, Woodston, Peterborough - theft of a wallet and bank cards on September 10.

The pair, both of Station Road, March, appeared at Cambridge Magistrates’ Court on September 13 and have been remanded in prison to appear at Cambridge Crown Court for trial on October 11.
