Students at Cromwell Community College hosted a Kick Ash event aimed at preventing teenagers from developing a smoking habit.
To tie in with National No-Smoking Day, pupils from Yr 10 sacrificed their spare time to help with the campaign and raise awareness amongst their younger peers. They collected signatures to help with their pledge to stop teenagers smoking.
Richard, a Yr 10 student, helped promote the cause by dressing as the Kick Ash mascot – a cigarette – along with the rest of the team wearing Kick Ash t-shirts.
The event attracted a lot of attention and was classed as a success, opening a lot of students’ minds to the dangers and risks of picking up a cigarette.
