Students got the chance to show off a year’s work of hard work to proud parents at Cromwell Community College’s annual art and photography exhibition.

About 100 A level, AS level and GCSE students had their coursework on display, which accounts for 60 per cent of their grades.

The themes this year were together and apart for Year 11, relationships for Year 12 and flaws, perfection, ideals or compromises for Year 13.

This was the first year the college has run a photography course. Its theme was also relationships.

Art and photography teacher Natalie Smith said: “For many of the students it was the first time they’ve taken part in a big exhibition so to have their parents there was very exciting for them.

“We gave the students very open titles and they came up with their own ideas, which were all very different.

“It’s the first time we’ve run the photography course. For a first attempt, it seemed to work well.”
