More than 900 pupils attended Cromwell Community College’s annual careers convention.
The event, which featured more than 45 stands, was held to encourage students to think about their future and explore some of the options available to them.
Jackie Harding, learning resource centre manager, said: “There was a huge variety of opportunities represented ranging from Metalcraft to MMUK, College of Animal Welfare to Santander Banking, Marshalls Engineering to Peterborough United Football Club.
“Local universities were also represented as were organisations offering apprenticeships.
“The event involved pupils from Years 10, 11 and sixth form as well Year 5/6 from local primary schools.
“They had a presentation by the College of West Anglia and were informed about higher education opportunities.
“Many pupils have said ‘how useful and informative the fair was because of the wide range of businesses and educational establishment there were to talk to’.”
Local employers said “pupils were amazingly polite and helpful”.
