Students at Cromwell Community College in Chatteris ditched their packed lunches in favour of Spanish omelette, French crepes and croissants last week.

The students spent tokens they had earned in languages classes on a host of continental treats including pain au choclat and German sausage.

Languages teachers gave out over 700 tokens to students who had worked well in class.

Head of languages, Matt Jackson, said: “I am really pleased by how much of a success the Languages Market Lunch was. It was great for us to be able to reward our fantastic pupils for working so well for us.”

“I would also like to send particular thanks to all Languages Ambassadors who helped cook, prepare and sell foods at this event and to the whole of the Languages team for their help to make it happen.”
