Make sure bicycles are stored in locked sheds warn police after spate of thefts over Christmas period

Police are warning Chatteris residents to be extra vigilant after a spate of cycle thefts in the town.

“Over the Christmas period a number of bicycles were taken from sheds in the Chatteris area,” said a police spokesman.

“Can we ask any residents who find cycles abandoned in the area to call 101 and we will check them against the stolen list.

“Please ensure that all cycles are stored in locked sheds and not left in sight of opportunist thieves.”
