A man who is part of an animal rescue team is coming to the rescue of children who are too frightened, too young or unable to get out to trick or treat this year - he is going to deliver sweets and treats dressed as a superhero.

Dan Martin, who is part of Fenland Animal Rescue, will be donning fancy dress for Halloween and, along with a group of other super hero friends and a dog dressed as the Lion King, will go out and about towns in the Fens.

Dan said: “I was at work and thought to myself after all this killer clown nonsense there must be some people put off trick or treating.

“Then I thought of children who are maybe ill or disabled who can’t go so I hatched the plan about going out as a super hero to spread some goodies.”

Dan posted the idea on Facebook and already has families who would like him to visit their homes on Monday October 31.

Dan said: “I plan to visit them all at the weekend so they can meet me before I turn up at the house so they feel comfortable with knowing I am the right person when I knock on the door on Monday.

“If anybody is interested in a superhero visit then just get in touch!”
