A Wisbech home owner challenged a burglar as the male tried to enter his property at lunchtime on Wednesday (20) forcing the culprit to flee.

Police are appealing for information after the attempted burglary at the home in Bucksholt Road, which happened at around 1pm.

A police spokesman said: “The occupant was disturbed by a loud noise and after investigating found the suspect attempting to enter their property. They challenged the male and he fled from the scene. Nothing was taken during the incident.”

The man is described as being between 25-30 years of age, 6ft tall with an athletic/muscular build wearing a black bomber jacket and dark trousers. His hair is described as being dark, shaved at the sides and slightly longer on top.
