A COUPLE were visited by their great-great-granddaughter at the weekend as five generations of a Fenland family came together to celebrate.

Ron and Ena Townshend, from March, toasted their diamond wedding anniversary last Tuesday and the celebrations continued on Sunday with a visit from their large family.

Ron, 80, and Ena, 78, have four daughters, 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Ena, who lives at Upwell Park with her husband, said: “We have had a great life and we’ve got five generations in our family, which makes me very proud.”
