Two visitors were welcomed to the August meeting of the Doddington Women’s Institute.
A very interesting talk was given by Lisa Nichols-Drew, who is a forensic scientist. She demonstrated what she has to wear so that she does not contaminate the evidence. She took shoe prints of some members and explained what evidence she could find from these.
Linda White thanked her for a very interesting talk and Debbie Tilsley and Suzanne Tucker provided refreshments.
The Competition for something “English” was judged by the speaker’s parents. The judges thought that all the entries were of high quality and gave 19 points to 19 entrants and 20 points were given to Heather Day for a tray of food containing a Roast Beef dinner and a Cream Tea.
There were 7 raffle winners. Next month’s meeting on September 7 will have Rhiannon Rae speaking about “Underwater Photography”.
The meetings are held in the Chapel at 7.15pm and new members and visitors are always welcome.
