A wide range of gifts were donated to a March church throughout the week, as part of its harvest festival.

St John's Church was open for people to donate items on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A service was also held on Sunday, attended by more than 250 people.

The church remained open for people to drop in gifts, with a harvest sale also held to raise money for charities and the church.

There was also an exhibition of paintings by March artist and author John Abbott, who gave demonstrations and talks about where he gets his ideas from for paintings.

The Rev Stephen Taylor, priest in charge of St John's, said: "We had lots of good comments and lots of people coming through the doors. It was a fantastic weekend."

A percentage of the money will go to aid charities, with the rest set aside for new mission projects in the community and for maintenance work on the church organ.
