Doves were released into the skies over Chatteris on Saturday to mark the blessing of a new Chapel of Rest in the town.
Chatteris Independent Funeral Services hosted a blessing ceremony led by the Rev Wendy Thompson from the parish church, which was then followed by the release of the doves.
Directors of the new company, Carl Flippance, Jonathan Rose and Marilyn Rose, welcomed a number of special guests to the ceremony and said: “Chatteris Independent Funeral Services are dedicated to serving the local community and surrounding villages with care and commitment.”
The new funeral home in High Street, includes a peaceful Chapel of Rest, arrangement room, a reception area, memorial display, and facilities for the disabled.
