A MOTORIST was rescued from her car by firefighters after it left a road and entered a ditch on Monday.
Two fire crews from Ely and a rescue crew from Cambridge were called to Long Causeway, Coveney, at about 1.40pm.
The driver of the car, a woman, was trapped inside and had to be released by crews using cutting equipment.
A spokesman for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “The car came to rest straddled across a ditch making the rescue from the car particularly difficult. “Fortunately the Ely crew have the latest front line rescue fire engine. Equipped with the latest training and rescue equipment, the driver was safely removed from the vehicle and transported to hospital for further observations.”
