A DRIVER had a lucky escape this afternoon when his lorry toppled off the road and ended on its side in a Fenland field.

Police received reports of a lorry which had left Wimblington Road, Manea, at about 3.30pm.

The vehicle was stuck on its side in a field close to the junction with Station Road, but the driver was unharmed.

A police spokesman said: “It was causing a distraction more than anything because people kept stopping to check that the driver was safe.

“It is unknown how the lorry managed to get there.”
