The Friends of Benwick Church held its annual picnic, balloon race and duck race on Monday on the banks of the Old River Nene between the village's two bridges.
There was a selection of games, stalls, a draw, refreshments and a barbecue. The balloon race ran throughout the afternoon (winners to be announced in a month's time when results become known) and the great duck race was one of the later events.
Despite the showery weather, £700 was raised for the building of the new church in the village.
