Man cut free from vehicle using ‘specialist cutting equipment’ after Fenland crash

A man had to be cut free from his vehicle by firefighters on Saturday after he was involved in a crash in Eastrea.

The incident happened on August 11 where one crew from Whittlesey, one crew from Chatteris and two crews from Dogsthorpe were called out.

A spokesman from Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue said: “We were called at 10.15pm to a road traffic collision on the B1093.

“Firefighters arrived to find a collision involving one vehicle near Angle Bridge.

“Using specialist cutting equipment they released one male casualty who was left in the care of ambulance crews.

“The crews returned to their stations by 1am.”
