A COUPLE'S sunflower has defied the summer weather and grown eight feet tall - and it is still growing.

It is the tallest sunflower March couple Shaun and Aimee Lewis have ever managed to grow. Their previous tallest reached six feet high.

Mrs Lewis, of Russell Avenue, said: "It has not flowered yet; it is just green and very tall.

"And it's not in a particularly sunny spot either, it's growing up a fence, so how it has grown so tall we do not know.
