Eight tonnes of metal and 40 catalytic converters stolen from Wisbech scrapyard

A GANG of thieves stole more than eight tonnes of scrap metal and 40 catalytic converters after breaking into a Wisbech yard.

The offenders broke into the scrapyard, in Osborne Road, between 10.50pm on Friday (February 3) and 6am on Monday (February 6).

Detective Constable Tade Toseland, investigating, said: “I would urge anyone with any information about this theft to call police.

“A large amount of metal was stolen and it is likely a van would have been used to take it away.”

Anyone with any information should call DC Toseland on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
