AN elderly man was dramatically rescued by firefighters yesterday after falling into the River Nene in Wisbech.
One crew from Wisbech was called to Nene Yacht Harbour in Nene Parade at 3.35pm following reports that a person had fallen into the river.
Firefighters arrived and discovered a man in his 60s who had been in the water for 10 minutes and was in difficulty. They rescued the man by pulling him into a boat.
Crews handed the man - who was conscious and breathing but had inhaled a lot of water - over to paramedics and returned to their fire station by 4.15pm.
