TWO men robbed an elderly woman in Park Road, Wisbech, on Sunday morning.
The 70-year-old woman was approached at between 10am and 10.30am by two men wearing black hooded tops.
One of the robbers raised a fist and demanded money.
As she handed over her purse, three men came to her rescue.
Two men chased the robbers off while the third remained with the victim.
The robbers were white but there is no further description.
Detective Sergeant Matt Swash said: “I would like to speak to anyone who witnessed this robbery and particularly the three men who helped the lady, as they could have very important information.
“This was a cowardly crime, which left the victim shaken and upset, and I am keen to trace those responsible. Any information, no matter how small it may seem, could prove vital to this investigation.”
Anyone with information should contact Det Sgt Swash, at March Police Station, on 101, of Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
