A pet rescue is looking for puppy foster carers and loving new homes for animals rescued from the dog pounds of councils in the Fens and from seven London boroughs.
Wisbech-based Ravenswood Pet Rescue is looking for help alongside a mass fund raising drive to help the animals they care for by holding a mediumship night with a clairvoyant who has made several appearances on ITVs Most Haunted.
The charity has also put together a wish list of goodies needed for an imminent arrival of puppies from a pregnant Terrier bitch found abandoned in a street in the Fenland area.
Puppy foster Carer Shelley Ridgeon, of Estover Road, March, said: “If the dogs are too small to be in kennels then they go to live with one of our carers until they find a permanent home.
“We have a pregnant terrier who was found abandoned in a street. She is due to give birth at any minute so we know there are more puppies needing loving temporary homes.
“We are always looking for more carers and for donations to help the dogs in our care. It’s why we organised the mediumship night to help bring in funds for the care of our dogs.”
Needed for the puppies are Natures Diet puppy feed, fleecy blankets and worming tablets.
The charity has been running for two years under the leadership of manager Caroline Trigg, where once taken in they are vaccinated, micro chipped and wormed.
They then feature on the not for profit charity’s website to find forever homes.
Miss Ridgeon said: “At any one time we have up to 25 dogs of all sorts of breeds, including pedigrees.”
The mediumship fund raiser night takes place on Sunday October 19 at the GER Club in Robiingoodfellows Lane, March at 6.30pm.
It features medium Barrie John. Tickets cost £15 and can be bought in advance by emailing shelley@ravenwoodpetrescue.co.uk or caroline@ravenswoodpetrescue.co.uk or call the centre on 0844-5555987.
