A warning has gone out to motorists using the A47 on Thursday to be aware of an “abnormal load” passing through.

Norfolk Police said today that a large wind turbine tower part, four metres wide and 22 metres long, would be heading our way.

“It will be escorted by Norfolk Police from the A47 in the Peterborough area to Jacks Lane wind farm, Stanhoe at 12.30pm,” said a spokesman.

The planned route follows the A47 – A149 – A148 – B1454 - local roads to site.

The spokesman added: “Delays are expected.”
