The chairman of the Fenland Association for Community Transport (FACT) is calling on residents to show their support by donating to the charity for his birthday.

Gary Christy has launched a fundraiser to allow residents to donate towards FACT as part of his birthday celebrations today (Wednesday), in a bid to keep helping elderly and vulnerable people through the Covid-19 pandemic.

(Image: FACT)Mr Christy said: “From day one of the pandemic hitting the community, FACT have been doing shopping and prescriptions deliveries to the vulnerable and elderly that have been shielding.

“I’m hoping you will join me in celebrating my birthday this year by supporting the charity.”

Mr Christy was also named this newspaper’s unsung hero of the year for the work FACT have done throughout 2020 to help those most in need.
