IT'S week two of our Fit of the Fens campaign and the chance to discover how two women, one from March and the other from Wisbech, are inspiring us all to get fitter.

And if you're wondering how news editor John Elworthy is getting on with his 'If he can, you can' personal diet and exercise regime, then turn to our websites to catch all the latest news.

Both in the paper, and on our website, we will be featuring as much information and helpful advice as possible to help the Fens get fitter.

Please let us know of events you're organising or involved in; or if you want to recruit more people to join your particular club - whether it's exercise classes for beginners, start dates for local slimming clubs or your personal account of how you got fitter.

PERSONAL training can benefit you, if you have never exercised before or if you just want advice on how to progress your current exercise regime.

That's the view of Hannah Dawson, 25, of March who runs a personal training business which she has built up over the past three years.

"Programmes can be designed for you at home or outdoors, whether you want to exercise one on one or with a few friends, partner or family," says Hannah, who also offers weekly classes in March.

Here's her starter for 10 on preparing for and finally starting getting fitter:

1 Do a lifestyle check and decide what time you have to set aside for being more active

2 Remember exercise doesn't have to be gym-based

3 Think of things that could help improve your health - washing the car, walking the dog more often, walking or cycling with the children to school

4 Try to get someone to exercise with you

5 Think more carefully about what you are eating, drinking or smoking

6 Involve your family - take the children swimming at weekends, join a tennis club or visit the leisure centre to see what's on offer

7 Check your local paper for what's on near you to help you get fitter

8 Don't try to do too much at once - chances are you won't keep it up

9 Don't be afraid to fail

10 Keep it fun
