A company stalwart has decided to call it a day after 37 years ... so it was only fitting for him to be thrown a leaving do on Wednesday.
Mick Oakey is retiring after 37 years at the farming cooperative Fengrain, of Hook Lane in Wimblington.
The event was the chance for storage members, past colleagues and old friends to bid farewell to the “quiet” and “unassuming” worker.
Fengrain director Paul Randle said: “To work for one company for over 37 years is a tribute to the man and the company and colleagues will miss him and thank him for his service and commitment over the years.
“We wish him and his family every happiness in his retirement.”
