A FENLAND bookmaker is taking bets on tomorrow’s FA Cup preliminary round clash between March Town United and Wisbech Town.
Ladbrokes’ shop in March has the Fenmen as clear favourites for victory in tomorrow’s game at the GER. The Ridgeons Premier League side, who play a division above the Hares, are Evens to claim a safe passage into the next round.
But odds on a March victory are 15/8 - tempting odds for the betting man. A draw is 13/5.
A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “They haven’t met in the FA Cup for a few years and there’s always that bit of magic about the competition. With it being a local derby, we felt it worthwhile to offer odds on the result.
“We have had a few bets and at the moment Wisbech are clear favourites. But that could change between now and the match - we are expecting more bets tomorrow when Wisbech’s fans arrive in town.”
