A Fenland dustcart driver had a lucky escape at lunchtime today when his vehicle overturned and ended up on its side in a field.
The district council’s dustcart was spotted in a corn field by photographer Steve Williams whilst he was out taking pictures for this paper.
The accident is believed to have happened between 1pm and 2pm and a council spokesman said: “One of our vehicles has been involved in some kind of incident. The driver is fine and we are now looking into it to see exactly what happened.”
Council staff were waited in another council vehicle for the recovery team to attend and collect the lorry.
