LEADER of Fenland District Council Alan Melton and chief executive Sandra Claxton have spent a day working as bin-men across Fenland.
The pair spent hours emptying bins in March and Wisbech in an attempt to get first hand experience of how the area’s frontline services are working.
The effort followed Cllr Melton and Mrs Claxton’s visit to Whittlesey’s Manor Leisure Centre last month, where they worked with staff for a day.
It is hoped that these will be the first of many projects, helping council staff to get to grips with frontline services.
