A FENLAND firm helped make history at Peterborough’s Dragon Boat race by raising more than 6,000 for charity.
Staff from Wisbech-based Foster Property Maintenance and Accent Nene Housing Association’s Peterborough office combined to collect the highest ever amount raised at the fundraising event.
Dragon boat members who raced to raise funds for East Anglia’s Children’s Hospices (EACH) were invited to the charity’s Milton Hospice where they were presented with a certificate in recognition of their efforts.
Debbie Fairhurst, EACH’s Cambridgshire fundraiser, said: “It was the most raised by a team in the history of the event - so thank you to all the sponsors who supported them.”
During their visit race members walked around the hospice and learned how their donation will be spent as well as meeting some of the children in resident.
