Fenland’s binmen have been given a big thumbs-up by residents.
A Fenland District Council customer satisfaction survey revealed 98 per cent of people (there were 155 responses) were satisfied with the district’s refuse and recycling services.
Workers were praised for continuing their rounds despite last month’s floods - they attended all but 800 homes, which were returned to the following day.
A report, which will appear before full council, said: “In some cases the team were walking through knee high water and were unable to make out the road beneath the surface water, even returning bins to doorways to assist customers where there were water covered driveways.”
