A FENLAND woman has been convicted and jailed for her part in the supply and possession of drugs.

Katie Langridge, 22, of Abbeygate Court, March, admitted one charge of being concerned in supplying amphetamines, possessing heroin, burglary, and being in breach of a suspended sentence.

Langridge was sentenced to a total of 12 months and three weeks in jail.

Her aunt, Donna Watts, 43, was jailed for three years and four months after admitting being concerned in supplying heroin.

The court also heard that Langridge had broken into a four-bedroom house in St Peter’s Road, Wisbech, on April 23 and that she had scrawled graffiti.

Watts, of Le Strange Avenue, Kings Lynn, and Langridge, who both had previous convictions, had been found with drugs on them when police officers stopped their car.

Police found Langridge with amphetamine worth 200, while Watts had about five grams of heroin with a street value of 500, along with 425 in cash and a mobile phone.

When police searched Watts’ home they found Langridge had also been staying there, and that there were sealable bags and two sets of scales which had traces of drugs on them as well as the fingerprints of both Watts and Langridge.

A small bag of heroin was also discovered in a clock at Watts’ home and some amphetamine was found in a washing basket which had a street value of about 50.

William Carter, for Watts, said Watts had a long-term drug habit that went back more than 20 years and her activities were “small, low-level dealing”.

Henry Hughes, for Langridge, said she had been jealous, drunk and on amphetamines when she broke into the Wisbech house.

She was making every effort to turn her life around and she had had a difficult past which she was trying to put behind her.
