A NEW exercise studio will be up and running at the Hudson Leisure Centre in Wisbech in the new year. Its creation is part of a wider scheme designed to make the best possible use of the space available in the centre’s sports hall.
Work started this week to erect a dividing wall across the hall, reducing the number of badminton courts from six to four and making space for the studio.
The work is likely to take three weeks to complete; the studio itself will be in place in January.
That will be followed by other improvements at the centre next year, including the modernisation of the changing rooms for people using the sports hall and gym and a new look to the front of the building.
Councillor Steve Garratt, Fenland District Council’s portfolio holder responsible for leisure services, said: “The new studio will give exercise classes their own dedicated space and enable a more varied programme in the hall. It is all part of our continuing efforts to offer the best possible facilities at all our leisure centres.”
