FOR the fourth year running Fenland District Council is in the running for the Local Government Chronicle’s Council of the Year award.

The council is competing with five other local authorities for the top award and has also been shortlisted in the Economic Development and Regeneration category.

The LGC Awards bring together councils from all over the country. The overall winner has to show a level of excellence and innovation that takes their work beyond basic service provision. The judges balance relative size and responsibilities with the quality of the results achieved, giving even the smallest council the chance to win.

The winners will be announced at an awards ceremony at the Grosvenor House hotel in London on March 23.
