FENLAND District Council’s Golden Age team returns to action next week with a visit to Parson Drove, organised in conjunction with the parish council.
They will be visiting the village hall on Wednesday from 10am-1pm, to offer help to anyone aged over 60. The Fenland Ferret will be there to sort out any benefits or allowances people may be entitled to.
Also on hand will be a member of FDC’s leisure team to provide details of what is available at its centres and carry out blood pressure tests for anyone who wants one.
Councillor Mac Cotterell said: “Please drop in for a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit and try out a game of bowling or simply have a chat. Everyone who comes along will be given a Golden Age shopping bag containing more help.”
Councillor Gavin Booth, chairman of Parson Drove Parish Council, said: “Once again we’re delighted to be working with Golden Age to bring this surgery to the village. Please come along – I’m sure you’ll find it both enjoyable and worthwhile.”
