WITH local elections and the first UK-wide referendum in more than 30 years coming up on May 5, time is running out for voters who haven’t yet got their names on the Electoral Register.

The deadline for registration is April 14. Anyone who wants a postal vote must also apply by then.

Fenland District Council is urging anyone not already registered not to delay. A spokesman said: “In Fenland we are having elections for district, town and parish councils as well as the referendum, and anyone who wants to vote must be properly registered. So if you aren’t already, you should contact us immediately.”

To obtain a registration form, call FDC on 01354 654321. Forms can also be downloaded from the Electoral Commission’s website, www.aboutmyvote.co.uk
