Luminus and Luminus Ferry Project employees have embraced the 2015 Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal and generously donated 23 beautifully wrapped boxes filled with presents for disadvantaged children this Christmas.

The shoeboxes will be distributed throughout the world in countries where many children live below the poverty line.

The sweets, colouring books, hats, scarves, gloves, toys and toiletries will be distributed to children aged 2 to 14 and will bring joy and remind children in need that they have not been forgotten this Christmas.

Luminus group chief executive, Chan Abraham said: “At Luminus we are committed to giving something back and once again our employees have gone the extra mile. “Christmas is a very special time and in 2015, our Year of Reinvigorating Trust, I am really pleased that Luminus staff have volunteered to help light up the lives of children in some of the poorest parts of the world.

“I am delighted with their efforts to be involved with these acts of kindness at Christmas. They are demonstrating that we are truly committed to our 2020 Vision: The Road to Renewal, to change the world where we are.”

The shoeboxes will be delivered by Operation Christmas Child, run by Samaritan’s Purse. The charity successfully reaches thousands of children around the world at Christmas and provides aid throughout the year in response to humanitarian disasters.
