A festive float has raised hundreds of pounds for The Fire Fighters Charity.
The on-call crew at Thorney raised £1,380 for the charity over the weekend by pulling the float around the village and holding a collection with Father Christmas in Peterborough’s Cathedral Square.
Colin Bartlett, Thorney’s watch commander, said: “Our annual festive float seemed a hit again this year with families and shoppers and we appreciate all their donations to this worthwhile charity.”
Thorney Fire Station is also recruiting on-call firefighters. If you live within 5 minutes of the station and would like to find out more about serving your community, pop along to their drill night every Tuesday between 7pm and 9pm.
