AIRCREWS based at RAF Lakenheath will begin night-flying from Monday.
A spokesman for the 48th Fighter Wing, based at Lakenheath, said: “The wing’s F-15C Eagles and F-15E Strike Eagles are required to train day and night and during all weather conditions to remain prepared for operations worldwide.
“The night-flying training provides aircrews here the opportunity to fly and maintain proficiency using night-vision equipment and procedures, which they could not do during daytime hours.”
The night-flying will continue until mid-December but the spokesman said flights would not be conducted later than 10 pm.
