FIREFIGHTERS were called out to Witchford after reports that a baby was stuck in a car.
A crew from Ely arrived at Manor Court Road shortly before 4.30pm to find that the child was locked in the parked vehicle.
Simon Thompson, crew commander for Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service at Ely, said: “The female driver of the vehicle had accidentally locked her keys in the car with the baby inside.
“The child was no older than 12-18months and was upset and had cried itself to sleep as we arrived.”
The crews were able to release the child within the hour and returned to the station by 5.25pm.
