Firefighters had to force entry into a house in Peyton Avenue, March yesterday.
Smoke was issuing from a semi-detached house when fire crews from Wisbech and March arrived at around 11.15am.
Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels to extinguish the blaze and returned to their stations by 2.05pm.
A Cambs Fire spokesman said: “Extensive smoke damage has been caused to the house.
“The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
