Fire crews have rescued a muntjac deer after it got itself caught in a metal gate.
One crew from Whittlesey and one crew from Stanground were called to free the animal yesterday at 2.30pm in Stanground.
“Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to release the animal, which is reported to be unharmed and no vet was required,” said a fire service spokesman.
Crews returned to their stations by 3pm.
